2023 Q1 Sales Report
The start of the calendar year for disc golf is an interesting one. Much of the United States is in the dead of winter, the Disc Golf Pro Tour doesn’t get underway until late February, and the new releases aren’t as frequent as the middle part of the year.
The first three months have come and gone, and it’s time to look back at the most popular brands and discs for Q1 2023. Charts are based on units sold.
Clash Discs Popularity Continues
Since we opened our online store in June 2022, Clash Discs has been a steady (no pun intended) performer. We aim to always have a great selection of Clash Discs on hand and will continue to be a go-to place for any new release and all your favorites. Clash Discs is a great example of building a strong relationship with a brand and always finding new ways to work together.
Axiom Discs comes in a number two thanks to the very popular Simon Lizotte Leapin’ Lizottl’ Hex. It was tough to keep in stock each time we were able to restock things. More on the Hex shortly.
Discraft and Kastaplast each had a strong quarter with us as well.
Lizottl’ Hex Tops Disc Charts
When you’re one of, if not the most popular disc golfer in the world, and you make a sponsorship change at the start of the year, it’s a safe bet that your first signature disc will be a popular one. The Axiom Discs Simon Lizotte Leapin’ Lizottl’ Hex was the first release of the year that was nearly impossible to keep in stock. We had two restocks and were sold out before any major promotion or notification.
It may surprise some, but the Clash Discs Steady Wild Honey has been at the top of our charts ever since it was released. The easy to throw, distance driver has been the most popular option from Clash Discs time and time again.
One of the most eye-catching releases from last year, the MVP Disc Sports Neutron Soft Glitch is another one that is tough to keep in stock. We have more on the way and expect this to continue to be popular throughout the year.
Bloomington Store is Now Open
We opened our first US store on Friday, March 31. Sales from that day are reflected in these charts. In the week since opening, we have noticed some different patterns in what has been sold online. We’ll keep an eye on the numbers and see what things look like after June.
